April 18, 20052005 FEW Scholarships and Distinguished Service Award FEW Operations & Academia Scholarships
Deadline for applications extended to May 31, 2005
Individuals interested in careers in the ethanol industry are encouraged to apply now for the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop (FEW) Scholarship awarded in June each year during the ethanol industry’s largest event, the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop and Expo.
Once again, event organizer BBI International will award two educational scholarships--the “FEW Operations Scholarship,” for individuals pursuing education leading toward a career in ethanol plant operations, and the “FEW Academia Scholarship,” intended for individuals pursuing education and/or research directly related to the ethanol industry.
Recipients will be awarded the $1,000 scholarships at the FEW, June 28-July 1, in Kansas City; recipients will also receive free registration and lodging during the FEW. The FEW Scholarship Committee, composed of ethanol industry professionals, review all applications and select the recipients.

2005 Distinguished Service Award
BBI International presents the Distinguished Service Award on odd years and the Award of Excellence on even years.
The company is now accepting nominations for the 2005 Distinguished Service Award. The first recipient in 2001 was Dick Gadomski, founder of PSI Corporation --now Lurgi PSI. In 2003, the recipient was Dave Vander Griend, founder and CEO of ICM Inc.
- Eligibility: This award is presented to an individual who has played a significant role in helping the ethanol industry mature and increase its efficiency during the past 20 or more years. The role can be in any field--scholarly, practical, technical, promotional, etc. The person who receives the most votes, deemed to be the deserving recipient by colleagues and peers, will receive the award. Nominees are eligible from any country worldwide.
- Nomination procedure: E-mail the name and organization of your nominee along with a brief explanation to Kathy Bryan, president of BBI International, at kbryan@bbibiofuels.com. Your e-mail will act as your vote. Please note: Only three votes from any one company/organization will count toward the final tally that determines the winner.
- Deadline: All nominations must be received before close of business on May 30, 2005.
