January 7, 2004Indcor Considers Construction of New Ethanol Plant Industry officials in Western Australia recently reported that ethanol producer Indcor is "seriously considering" the construction of a new ethanol plant in the Wheatbelt region.
"We have modelled it and, in time, I would say there's potential for a major ethanol business in [Western Australia]," said Indcor CEO Peter Anderton.
Should Indcor decide to pursue the project, officials said the facility could potentially begin converting wheat starch into ethanol by 2006. Officials noted that the company plans to construct up to five new ethanol production facilities within the next five years.
