April 29, 2003Construction Begins On Ethanol Plant In Kansas Western Plains Energy LLC begins construction on an ethanol plant near Campus, Kan. The plant is being built by ICM Inc., which will also market the distillers grains. Ethanol Products LLC will market the 30 million gallons of ethanol that the plant will produce.
"We congratulate the farmer-owners of Western Plains Energy as they begin construction on their ethanol plant," says Bob Dinneen, president of the Renewable Fuels Association. "This plant represents millions of dollars of investment in the future of rural Kansas. The plant will return on that investment many times over."
