Over 124,000 Barrels per Day of Ethanol Produced in June
WASHINGTON, DC –The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) today announced the U.S. ethanol industry set a monthly production record for June of 124,000 barrels per day (b/d), according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). June’s record was 13 percent higher than the previous June record of 110,000 b/d set in 2001.
The ethanol industry is expected to produce an annual record of approximately 2.1 billion gallons in 2002. Production capacity continues to grow with 14 ethanol plants under construction constituting more than 460 million gallons of additional annual production capacity. Currently, 63 existing plants can produce more than 2.4 billion gallons per year.
