December 11, 2001Novozymes Receives Environmental Recognition In November Novozymes North America, Inc. was selected to become a member of the prestigious “National Environmental Performance Track”, which rewards businesses in the USA for exceeding environmental protection standards.
On November 9th The Southeastern Regional Office of the US Environmental Protection Agency announced that Novozymes North America, Inc. has been selected to become a member of the National Environmental Performance Track.
Performance Track is a Federal government program that recognizes and rewards businesses for demonstrating an effective environmental management system and for exceeding environmental protection standards.
Lee Yarbrough, head of the Franklinton site, represented Novozymes at the ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a great honour for Novozymes to receive recognition by the Environmental Protection Agency for our efforts to achieve environmental excellence here in Franklinton, says Lee. This serves to validate our decision to establish an Environmental Management System run by a totally committed group of employees who consistently seek improvements in the way we impact our environment.
Performance Track is meant to motivate and reward facilities that lead the way to environmental excellence by managing environmental responsibilities, taking extra steps to reduce and prevent pollution, and being good corporate neighbours. Since the Performance Track Program’s launch in the summer of 2000, 251 facilities throughout the U.S. have been accepted as participants.
