July 25, 2000NCGA Announce New CEO The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) has announced that Rick Tolman will become executive vice president and CEO of the Association on September 1, 2000. Tolman was introduced to delegates and NCGA staff at the NCGA Corn Congress July 21-22 in Washington, D.C. Tolman replaces Chris Wehrman, who in March announced her intentions to resign before October 1st of this year.
"We are very pleased to have a professional of Tolman's caliber leading the association as it represents the nation's corn growers," said NCGA president Lynn Jensen, a farmer from Lake Preston, S.D. Speaking to the Corn Congress, Tolman said: "NCGA is powerful and influential and will become even more so. Change is what goes on in the world. This great organization can change and move forward by consensus after all of us have expressed our opinions."
Tolman comes to NCGA from the U.S. Grains Council (USGC), where he has served as executive director for nine years.
