January 22, 2001No fuel waiver for Calif. from Clinton Outgoing President Bill Clinton declined to grant California a waiver from federal fuel oxygen-content requirements that would have let the state phase out a controversial additive at the expense of ethanol producers.
Sources at the Environmental Protection Agency said on Saturday that Clinton decided to leave the issue to the new Bush administration to decide.
