A panel of lenders, Brian Thome, Mark Schmidt, and Tom Houser, discuss the current ethanol capital market at the Symposium on Monday, October 6, 2003 at the Drake Hotel

Numerous proposed ethanol projects across the United States are asking lenders to review financing options. In many cases, lenders have little, if any, experience in the ethanol industry, making it difficult to make educated decisions on proposed projects.

This is a tremendous opportunity to get up to speed as quickly as possible. You will have the chance to visit directly with those lenders who have already financed ethanol projects! Learn what they have experienced and what they recommend.

This unique Symposium is designed to educate lenders, financial advisors, representatives from rural economic development agencies, government lending institutions and other stakeholders on the viability of the ethanol industry and investment considerations for building, financing and operating an ethanol production facility.

The National Ethanol Symposiums for Lenders will address the following Key Issues, and more:

  • Perspective by a Panel of Peers – How do they see the ethanol industry and the ethanol capital market?
  • Concept to Construction for a Proposed Ethanol Plant – What do the financials look like?
  • The Ethanol Marketplace – What’s in the future? Will we overproduce? How is ethanol priced?
  • Coproducts Marketplaces – Distillers grains & CO2. Are there new value-added products?
  • The Organizational Structure – Cooperatives, LLCs, combinations – what are the advantages and regulations?
  • Federal and State Incentive Programs – What is available to help strengthen the project?
  • The Project Management Team – What players are needed for a well-guided project?
  • Energy, Commodities and Risk Management – How has the management of the costs and logistics of grain and utilities become more sophisticated?
  • An open discussion of lenders and investors – What did we learn? What do we still need to know?

Who should attend?

If you have been asked to finance a renewable energy project like fuel ethanol, or anticipate that you will be... then attending the National Ethanol Symposium for Lenders is an important consideration. We encourage you to register now!
