National Biofuels Symposium for Lenders: "Banking on Biofuels"

Notice July 6, 2004: We regret to announce that the Symposium has been cancelled.  Check back at this page for further information as it becomes available.

Numerous proposed ethanol projects across the United States are asking lenders to review financing options. In many cases, lenders have little, if any, experience in the ethanol and biodiesel industries, making it difficult to make educated decisions on proposed projects.

This is a tremendous opportunity to get up to speed as quickly as possible. You will have the chance to visit directly with those lenders who have already financed biofuels projects! Learn what they have experienced and what they recommend.

Plan now to attend!

The following key topics, and more, will be addressed:

  • Perspective by a Panel of Peers – How do they see the ethanol and biodiesel industries and their respective capital markets?

  • Concept to Construction for a Proposed Biofuels Facility – What do the financials look like?

  • The Ethanol and Biodiesel Marketplace – What’s in the future? Will we overproduce? How are biofuels priced?

  • Coproduct Marketplaces – What are the coproducts? Are there sufficient value-added markets?

  • The Organizational Structure – Cooperatives, LLCs, private investors – what are the advantages and governing regulations?

  • Federal and State Incentive Programs – What is available to help strengthen the project?

  • The Project Management Team – What players are needed for a well-guided project?

  • Energy, Commodities and Risk Management – How has the management of the costs and logistics of feedstocks, and utilities become more sophisticated?

  • An open discussion of lenders and investors – What did we learn? What do we still need to know?
