Maine (1999 EWS)

Maine held a workshop in September of 1999 in Waterville. There is a great deal of interest in developing an ethanol industry in the state using potatoes and/or forest residues. A steering committee was formed that has met several times and investigation is underway to learn what the best avenues for ethanol production are. In February 2000, a seminar was held in Augusta to further expand the knowledge base of the key individuals for whom presentations were made.
