Oregon (2000 EWS)

The 2000 Workshop in Portland was a joint Washington-Oregon Workshop. In 2001, both states are moving forward independently. Despite the fact that there are common threads, each state has its own circumstances to consider as plans are developed. In a response to concerns that still exist in parts of Oregon about energy balance, food versus fuel, greenhouse gas emissions and such, a second workshop is being held May 8th in Eugene. The workshop is called "The Oregon Ethanol Forum: A Closer Look at Fuel Ethanol." The intent is to answer, in a well-documented manner, many of the lingering concerns or misunderstandings. Cascade Grain is an 80 million gallon per year corn-ethanol plant that is nearing the final stages of completing its financing. It will be located near Clatskanie, Oregon.
