The
Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show - Western & Pacific Region was the first-ever regional conference
to focus on near-term development of commercial-scale ethanol and biodiesel production and use.
The Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show presented important technical and political issues that can
enable biofuels production and use in the Western United States and
Canada, and the Pacific Rim.
The main objectives of the conference program were to exchange information
and expertise that targets regional development of a biofuels industry;
bring together key people that can facilitate the development of a
biofuels industry; offer reliable and viable technology options; and
identify action steps to create a path forward. The Biofuels Workshop
was an important opportunity to share resources,
expertise, services, products and technology with this rapidly emerging
biofuels industry.
This event attracted over 400 participants and
nearly 50 exhibitors representing:
- Current and future ethanol and biodiesel producers
- Industry technology, equipment and service vendors
- Design, build and engineering companies
- Feedstock producers and distributors
- Biofuels and coproducts marketers
- Local, state and federal government agencies in areas of
agriculture, environment, environmental protection, forestry and natural
resources, energy, waste management and commerce
- Bankers and other lending institutions
- Commodity trade and marketing specialists
- Petroleum refiners, marketers and distributors
- Energy brokers
- Consultants
- Industry associations
- Regulatory agencies
The
final
attendance roster (269KB PDF) is available for download. A
copy of this list will also be included on the final conference
proceedings CD to be mailed to participants.
California was deemed the best state to host the Biofuels Workshop & Trade
Show due to the fact that is the holds one of the largest biofuels market,
ethanol and biodiesel, in the country and rapidly growing support for
developing these industries.
