January 14, 2004Ethanol Plant Approved The Tulare board of supervisors approved a plan authorizing the state to issue $9 million in bonds to build an ethanol plant in Goshen.
Supporters call ethanol a clean gasoline fuel additive, that could replace MTBE.
It's an alcohol based fuel made from crops like corn or wheat.
The proposal now goes to the California Statewide Communities Development Authority for approval, which is expected sometime near the end of the year.
