September 25, 2003Missouri Planning For Two Ethanol Plants (KSDK) -- Missouri is looking into what some call the fuel of the future, Ethanol. The state says in the next year, two new Ethanol plants will be built in Missouri they could bring up to 2,600 new jobs.
Ethanol sells for about 85 cents a gallon a bargain compared to regular gasoline. But opponents say it could send the price of regular gas even higher and produces more pollution.
Earlier this week, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville unveiled its new Ethanol research center.
The facility is designed to find less expensive ways to create the alternative fuel.
