Washington, DC – As California completes its transition from MTBE to ethanol and the U.S. Congress debates establishing a renewable fuels standard, all eyes will be on the 8th annual National Ethanol Conference: Policy and Marketing to be held at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Arizona from February 17-19, 2003. This premier ethanol industry forum, sponsored by the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), will include presentations from government leaders, petroleum industry executives, environmental organizations, and ethanol and agriculture experts.
Featured presentations include:
State of the Industry Address
Bob Dinneen, President and CEO, Renewable Fuels Association
Mr. Dinneen will highlight the record growth in ethanol production and discuss future challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
Keynote Address
U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND)
Sen. Dorgan will discuss the outlook for federal energy legislation and his new initiative to rapidly develop fuel cell technology.
Policy Keynote Address
Deputy Secretary Kyle McSlarrow, U.S. Department of Energy
Secretary McSlarrow will discuss the numerous DOE programs that impact ethanol and the Administration’s vision for ethanol production and use in the future.
Panel: “Washington Insiders Roundtable”
Washington insiders from the petroleum and ethanol industries debate the latest legislative efforts affecting U.S. fuel markets.
Panel: “Implementing an Effective RFS”
Industry and government experts will discuss the impact of implementing a renewable fuels standard, with a focus on air quality and refinery flexibility.
