February 14, 2001DynaMotive Announces First BioOil Production from New Plant DynaMotive Technologies Corporation has announced that initial production runs in its new 10 tonne per day BioOil pilot plant have been completed successfully. Fuel quality BioOil was produced from BC wood waste.
The commissioning of the fully automated plant - which includes testing of each technical component as well as all computerized control systems - is on schedule, with an official opening planned for later in the spring. Photographs of the plant are posted on the Company's website: www.dynamotive.com.
Commenting on this milestone, Director of Engineering Warren Johnson said, "We're very pleased with the progress to date on the commissioning of our new BioOil plant. During the initial production runs, all components and sub-systems of the new plant performed well. Our first production of BioOil last week confirms that the basic process design is sound and allows us to proceed with the commissioning as scheduled."
The new BioOil plant was designed in-house by DynaMotive's Technology Group and constructed at the BC Research complex in Vancouver BC. The plant conforms to all applicable safety, electrical and mechanical design standards, utilizing state-of-the-art 'smart' instrumentation and a high-powered industrial-grade distributed control system (DCS). The plant was designed to facilitate easy scale-up to commercial plant capacities. Once commissioned, the fully automated plant will have a production capacity of 6,000 litres of BioOil per day, providing much larger quantities of BioOil for engine and combustion test programs.
