The biodiesel technical community’s best and brightest met in New Orleans January 29-30, 2003, to prioritize the biodiesel industry's technical agenda and review the most recent biodiesel technical information and data. The National Biodiesel Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Energy cosponsored the event.

"More than seven years ago when we started this invitation-only meeting, we had about 25 people attend,” said Steve Howell, NBB technical director and president of MARC IV. “Last year’s meeting had more than 70, and in the end we had to turn people away. This year, we are opening it up to anyone, and we are expecting about 200 people to participate."
