Maine (1999 EWS)

Maine is very interested in developing an ethanol industry to bolster the rural economy. A group has been moving forward with the effort and plans to have a pre-feasibility study done that looks at the viability of a biomass-ethanol industry in the state. The goal set by the Workshop in September of 1999 was first to produce enough ethanol to have 10% blended in every gallon used in the state, then to produce enough ethanol to export as well.
