Idaho (2001 EWS)

Approximately 100 people attended Idaho's Workshop, held in Boise on January 11. "Ethanol & Idaho: Partners for the Future" was the theme of the Workshop that helped kick-off the Governor's Proclamation of January as "Ethanol Awareness Month." Awards of appreciation were given to four leaders in the Idaho ethanol industry. A display of renewable-fueled vehicles included an E85 police car that is used for teaching school kids about renewables. The need to form an ethanol work group and to conduct economic impact and resource analyses were identified as the immediate steps to be taken. The workshop inspired three areas of the state to take a look at building ethanol plants and there were immediate requests for more workshops.
